The Puerta del Istmo ZDEEP: investment and jobs
- Free zones, ZDEEP and industrial parks
- The ZDEEPs, one by one
- Audited
Puerta del Istmo sits at km 249.5 of the CA-2 West, Pajapita, San Marcos, 1.3 km from the border with Mexico according to Prensa Libre. It is a multi-user park and was the first ZDEEP authorized by ZOLIC and enabled by the tax authority (SAT), although the Prensa Libre headline calls it the 'second development zone' to start operations, which needs reconciling. Investment at start-up was Q51 M (Q25 M executed plus Q26 M for a second phase), with a projection of 400 direct and 1,500 indirect jobs and a stated potential of up to 25,000; these figures were verified against Prensa Libre in the audit of 2026-08-19. The ZOLIC factsheet that carried different figures (Q20.2 M; 1,550 direct / 6,200 indirect) returned a 404 and cannot be re-verified.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
