'Guatemala No Se Detiene' (GNSD, 'Guatemala Does Not Stop') is the national nearshoring strategy. It began as a proposal drawn up with McKinsey & Company and presented by the Giammattei government in October 2020, under the slogan 'Vamos por empleo, inversión y prosperidad'. It is a public-private alliance: MINECO/PRONACOM with FUNDESA, CACIF, AGEXPORT, Banguat and the Municipality of Guatemala, in execution since 2022; its promotion vehicle is the private agency Invest Guatemala. Method: 25 productive clusters identified, 11 prioritized for promotion programs; leading sectors: light manufacturing, call centers/BPO, pharmaceuticals and food, with technical training for young people. Pillars: investment attraction, competitiveness/business climate and legal certainty, infrastructure, human capital and tourism. McKinsey opened operations in Guatemala in the context of the plan.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
