Invest Guatemala is a private investment promotion agency that positions the country as an FDI destination; it offers free assistance: information on opportunities and sectors, regulatory facilitation, identification of local partners, site location and end-to-end support. Priority sectors: agro-industry, apparel and textiles, life sciences, the services industry, food and beverages, and manufacturing. Its executive director is Juan Esteban Sánchez, formerly of ProColombia, in post since 2023. It is a collaborative project involving MINECO/PRONACOM, the Ministry of Public Finance (MINFIN), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINEX), the central bank (Banguat), the Municipality of Guatemala, FUNDESA and AGEXPORT, born of the 'Guatemala No Se Detiene' agenda (planned in 2021, in execution since 2022); the exact year of its formal incorporation was not located.
