The dossier recorded 23 ZDEEP zones in total: the first 5 operating, 10 authorized by ZOLIC and pending final clearance from the tax authority (SAT), and 8 in process, in departments such as Escuintla, San Marcos, Zacapa and Izabal (Puerto Barrios), with ~1,900 direct and indirect jobs in the first zones. The 2026-08-19 audit could not verify those figures: one of the ZOLIC URLs returns a 404 and the 'nuestras-zdeep' page no longer publishes counts or employment. The last verifiable data point is from Prensa Libre (3 May 2022): 10 projects and 2,570 jobs; the official figure should be requested from ZOLIC (annual report). The Michatoya Pacífico ZDEEP, at km 72 of the motorway to Puerto Quetzal, has the most users in the south of the country; its user rates are not public.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
