A US$120 M (Q927 M) loan was approved for 1,900 km of distribution networks and 1,000 km of medium-voltage lines in Chiquimula, Peten, Alta Verapaz, Huehuetenango, Baja Verapaz, Quiche and Izabal; MEM puts the universal-coverage challenge at US$900 M or more. The national electricity coverage index (% of households, latest year) is published by MEM but was not verified in this session; it remains an outstanding data point.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
