Built or awarded to date: PET-01-2009 and PETNAC-2014 together came to more than 783 km of lines, 10 new substations and the expansion of 12 more, across 15 departments and 74 municipalities. The CNEE's current plans are the Transmission System Expansion Plan 2022–2052 and the PET 2024–2054. Under way alongside PEG-5 is PET-3-2025: ~440 km of lines and 14 new substations, a process opened on 23 April 2025, with a proposed 230 kV reinforcement in the south-eastern region. The figure of 'up to US$5,000 M in combined PEG-5 + PET-3 investment' is an unverified press claim.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
