CAFTA-DR was signed in August 2004 and has been in force for Guatemala since 1 July 2006 (a date confirmed in audit against trade.gov and AGEXPORT). The parties are the United States, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. According to USTR, total goods and services trade between the United States and the bloc came to approximately US$108,500 million in 2022. It is the anchor agreement for Guatemala's access to the US market.

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
