Guatemala received US$21,644.5 million in remittances in 2024 (World Bank, BX.TRF.PWKR.CD.DT; verified in audit). As a share of GDP: 19.1% in 2024, 19.2% in 2023, 13.8% in 2019 and 3.1% in 2000 (BX.TRF.PWKR.DT.GD.ZS). For 2025, press coverage of the Moody's report (Apr 2026) speaks of ~21% of GDP, a figure still to be confirmed against Banguat; the 2025 annual total in US dollars was not retrieved in this pass and can be taken from the archive (remittances_usd, Banguat).

The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
