The monetary policy (leading) rate stands at 3.50%, held unanimously by the Monetary Board on 24 Jun 2026 (press bulletin of the Bank of Guatemala (Banguat); verified in audit). The previous cut took it from 3.75% to 3.50% in Feb 2026, according to a Banguat press conference. The Board decides some 8 times a year. The full history of the 2022-2026 cycle — the peak of the tightening cycle and the date of each cut — was not retrieved in this pass; Banguat publishes it on its leading-rate page.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
