Regional capital dominates FDI into Guatemala in 2025 (Banguat preliminary figures): Central America and the Dominican Republic contributed US$455.2 million (24.2% of the total), Colombia US$398.1 million (21.2%) and Mexico US$231.0 million (12.3%). Together, these three sources account for 57.7% of the year's US$1,881.7 million. The dossier reads this as almost half the total inflow entering through banking and insurance as reinvested earnings of regional parent companies, which is consistent with the weight of Colombia and Central America. Figures verified against Banguat's IED_2025 PDF in the audit of 19 August 2026.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
