According to OSAC, protests routinely block the CA-1, the CA-5 and the Pan-American Highway; after the 2023 election, blockades paralyzed the movement of goods nationwide. The recommendation is to plan for logistical redundancy and to check road conditions and blockades with PROVIAL (1520). On road accidents, OSAC singles out the CA-1 and the CA-9 towards the Caribbean as especially dangerous because of heavy traffic and poorly maintained vehicles.
