Guatemala's English level in the EF EPI 2025
- Workforce, education and talent
- The labor force, in numbers
- Audited
In the EF English Proficiency Index 2025, Guatemala scores 510 against a global average of 488, in the 'Moderate' band, and ranks 61st worldwide (the fact sheet confirms #61; the denominator of 123 countries comes from the global report and must be confirmed against it). By skill: reading 523, listening 500, writing 498 and speaking 502. The index measures those who take the EF test online, not the general population, so it describes the segment seeking certification rather than the total bilingual pool. The dossier proposes the indicators ef_epi_score and ef_epi_rank_global, updated annually in November.
The research is written in English; quoted figures, source names and the titles of legal instruments stay in the language their source published them in.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
