A temporary residency running beyond 5 years requires a move to permanent residency (art. 78 of the Migration Code). Payments are made only in quetzales at the day's exchange rate, at the bank branches located inside the IGM. Service is at the Subdirectorate of Immigration Affairs, 6a Avenida 3-11, Zona 4, Guatemala City; telephone 2411-2411; Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 15:00.
