BAM has been 100% owned by Grupo Bancolombia (Colombia) since 2020: according to the material-event filing (Form 6-K) submitted by Bancolombia to the SEC on 13 March 2020, it acquired the remaining 40% of Grupo Agromercantil Holding for US$289,144,606. Forbes Centroamérica confirms the move from 40% to 100% and that BAM was the country's fifth-largest bank by assets (Q28,289 million in 2020), though it does not publish the price. The network of 68 branches in the capital and 87 in the departments (2023) comes from Wikipedia and needs verification.

This layer is research: read from public sources by the archive's own team, every claim cited with the date it was consulted, and audited where it is marked so. It has not entered the verified store — no figure here was fetched back from its source or stamped with a retrieval time — so it wears no red provenance numeral and never mixes with the verified figures.
