Digital nomads and migrant worker residency with a foreign employer

There is no category called 'digital nomad' in the text of Agreement IGM-016-2025 (searching the PDF returns neither 'nómada' nor 'digital'). What exists is temporary residency as a migrant worker with a foreign employer (article 11.2): bank statements evidencing remuneration from abroad 'of a minimum amount of two thousand United States dollars per month (US$2,000.00), received over the past year', US$3,000 if dependants accompany the applicant; an apostilled certified public accountant's certification is an alternative; for NGOs and international organizations only an employment certificate plus medical insurance is required; no guarantor; 1–5 years; fees of US$200/300/500 (dossier 12). The other sub-categories are the migrant worker with a Guatemalan employer (article 11.1: offer letter plus guarantor, up to five years) and the self-employed worker (article 11.3: a notarial deed setting out the activity, location, start date and projected income, the RTU and authorization to trade). The practical difference from a typical nomad visa: this is a temporary residency with a full file, apostilled background checks, an interview and biometrics, not a simplified entry permit; the actual decision time is not published.
