In May 2025, according to the INGUAT bulletin, 64% of non-resident visitors (160,265) entered overland — the border with El Salvador alone supplied 128,209, or 51% of the total; Honduras 18,378, Belize 10,829 and Mexico 2,849. Air arrivals came to 87,753 (35%), almost all through La Aurora (87,746) and just 7 through Mundo Maya; sea arrivals (cruise passengers at Puerto Quetzal) 2,613 (1%). That month 75% were tourists (staying overnight) and 25% same-day visitors. The months of January–May 2025 recorded 279,639 · 229,077 · 282,000 · 312,062 · 250,631. Method note: overland flows are an INGUAT estimate, not a migration count — relevant to any demand model.
